Crinipellis procera has a twisted stipe (stem), rather like horse hair, fawn in colour, approximately 1mm in diameter and 100mm long that is covered with fine velvety hair. The cap is 5mm to 15mm in diameter with sinuately adnexed white gills. The spores are white.

Crinipellis procera grows from small twigs among leaf litter on the floor of native forests.
